Western Australia's Echo Yachts initiates construction on the world's largest sailing catamaran, marking their grand entrance into large-scale sailing yachts while highlighting their commitment to environmental efficiency and cutting-edge designs.

Eco-friendly extravagance takes a new form in the maritime world as Echo Yachts embarks on an exceptional endeavor. Marking their first large-scale sailing yacht, the Western Australia-based company has begun work on the ASC57, aspiring to set a new standard for luxury catamarans. This innovative 57-metre multihull vessel's design draws inspiration from the multihull specialist's earlier project, Charley 2. In collaboration with the esteemed One2Three Naval Architects and the renowned Dutch Dykstra Naval Architects, the company seeks to deliver a lightweight, easy-to-operate vessel suitable for long-range cruising. The yacht distinguishes itself with a groundbreaking twin-Dynarig sail system, the inclusion of a helicopter landing pad and a cutting-edge regenerative power system with twin shaft generators and battery storage. Designed with aluminium hulls for increased hydrodynamic efficiency, Echo Yachts claims this vessel will significantly minimize the environmental footprint compared to traditional motor yachts. Despite their numerous advantages, large multihulls have seen relatively slow growth, making them exclusive jewels in the superyacht market. Nevertheless, with the ASC57, Echo Yachts aims to pioneer forward, demonstrating the significant potential for efficiency and sustainability within the luxury sailing market.
