With Royal Huisman confirming the final stage of production, the 65-metre yacht Aquarius II prepares for its grand launch, destined to be one of the most eye-catching vessels in the sailing fleet.

Aquarius II, the performance ketch that succeeded the first Aquarius (now named Apsara), was crafted by the Dutch shipbuilding team that received commendations for being 'close to perfect' from the experienced husband-and-wife owners. The only request from the yacht lovers this time was a larger vision of Aquarius, put together by the same team. Embodying a collaborative approach, the team was led by owners' project manager Godfrey Cray and included Dykstra Naval Architects, interior designer Mark Whiteley, and superyacht builder Royal Huisman. The project incorporates lessons learned from the first Aquarius along with former builds. The new vessel features a 45% volume increase from the first Aquarius, larger social and crew areas, evolved integrated sail-handling systems, and a raising fin keel for enhanced performance. Built from light Alustar aluminium, the yacht also demonstrates semi-hybrid propulsion systems. Post its transfer to Amsterdam, preparations for its launch include stepping carbon Rondal masts and booms, sea trials, and its scheduled delivery within the year.
